05 COVID-19 fatalities in Sri Lanka on Wednesday (21)

Colombo (News 1st); The Director-General of Health Services confirmed five deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection on Wednesday (21). Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 630.

01. The deceased is a 75 year old male resident in Sewanagala. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Embilipitiya and transferred to the Teaching Hospital Colombo North where he died on 18.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Acute Kidney Injury and Covid Pneumonia with sepsis.

02. The deceased is an 80 year old male resident in Ja-Ela. He died on 19.04.2021 while undergoing treatments in Colombo North Teaching Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia, Coronary heart syndrome and Acute Kidney Injury.

03. The deceased is a 57 year old male resident in Kelaniya. He died on 20.04.2021 while undergoing treatments in Colombo North Teaching Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia, Septic shock and Acute Kidney injury.

04. The deceased is a 66 year old male resident in Rathnapura. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in Teaching Hospital Rathnapura and transferred to the Base hospital Homagama where he died on 19.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, Diabetes and Dyslipidaemia.

05. The deceased is a 39 year old male resident in Gamapaha. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo and transferred to the IDH Hospital where he died on 20.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Septic Shock with Covid pneumonia.
