Namal calls on nations to roll out vaccinations for countries that need them the most

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lankan Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa spoke about the global public health post-COVID-19 on the 3rd day of the Raisina Dialogue organized by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday (16th April) The Raisina Dialogue is India’s premier conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics committed to addressing the most challenging issues facing the global community. The inauguration ceremony of the dialogue which was held virtually also saw the participation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "We are working on the travel bubble, which we did a trial program with Ukrainians and that has been very successful. Now we are working on a similar bubble with India," Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa said. The Minister added that the bubble tourism concept is not going to benefit grassroots adding that however, this will be beneficial for big hotels that can afford to organize bubble tourism. Speaking further, the Sri Lankan Sports Minister also called on other nations to roll out vaccinations for countries that need them the most. "Sri Lanka has been able to vaccinate around 1 million out of our 22 million population. There are many countries out there that haven't even seen or think of a proper program as to how the vaccination should take place," the minister said.
