13 arrested for possession of ICE since 10th April 2021

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police have arrested 13 suspects were arrested for the possession of narcotic substance ICE, during raids carried out in the past few days since Saturday, the 10th of April. Close to 128 kilograms of ICE were seized during these arrests, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana told News 1st on Friday (Apr. 16). The latest such arrest was made on Thursday (Apr. 15), when one individual was arrested in Hunupitiya, Wattala for the possession of narcotic substance ICE. According to DIG Ajith Rohana, 2.4 kilograms of ICE was discovered in the possession of the 28-year-old suspect arrested in Hunupitiya on Thursday (15). The arrest was made during a raid conducted by the Police Narcotic Bureau. A breakdown of the arrests made so far with regard to narcotic substance ICE since 10th April: On the 10th of April, a suspect was arrested in Wattala for the possession of 113 grams of ICE and 101 grams of Heroin. Following interrogation of the suspect, 15 kilograms of narcotic substance ICE were seized in the Nawandama area in Ja-Ela on the 11th of April, whilst six suspects were arrested during the raid. Upon further interrogating the suspect, on the following day, that is the 12th of April, around 110 kilograms of ICE were discovered in the Rathgahawatte area in Sapugaskanda and five suspects were arrested.
