Strike called-off; Train operations resume from Fort, Colombo

Colombo (News 1st); Train operations resumed from Fort, Colombo as trade unions called off their strike action on Friday (09) evening. Transport Minister Gamini Lokuge speaking to News 1st said the decision to call off the strike was reached following a dialogue with trade union representatives. Trade Unions launched a strike action against the decision taken to call for interviews for the post of Railways General Manager.
