Colombo (News 1st);  The Director General of Health Services confirmed two deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection on Wednesday (31). Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid19 infection in Sri Lanka is 568.

01. The deceased is an 85 year old female resident from Wattala. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments at a private hospital in Colombo and transferred to IDH Hospital where she died on 31.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as septic shock, acute kidney injury, high blood pressure and Covid pneumonia.

02. The deceased is a 74 year old male resident from Eravur in Batticaloa. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments at Teaching Hospital Batticaloa and transferred to Base Hospital Welikanda. where he died on 31.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as septic shock, acute kidney injury and Covid pneumonia.
