COLOMBO (News 1st): The Government is exploring the possibility of delaying the 2021 GCE Advanced Level and Grade 5 Scholarship Examinations by several months, given the inability to cover the syllabus as scheduled.

The Ministry of Education said a special discussion in this regard, was held between the Department of Examinations, Ministry officials, and Provincial Directors of Education.

Accordingly, the Education Ministry said that a final decision will be reached upon gathering further information at the school level regarding the syllabi covered so far and future activities pertaining to the issue.

Both the 2021 GCE A/Ls and Grade 05 Scholarship examinations are scheduled to be held in August; however, the Ministry of Education will announce any amendments in this regard, in the future.
