One COVID-19 death on Wednesday (03); Fatalities rise to 484

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that ONE (01) COVID-19 death was reported in the country on Wednesday (Mar. 03), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 484. The deceased is a 65-year-old female from Eravur. She was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus and transferred from Batticaloa Teaching Hospital to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital, where she died on 03.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as blood poisoning and Covid pneumonia. Meanwhile, another 205 new positive cases were reported on Wednesday (Mar. 03), raising the COVID-19 caseload in the country to 84,226. As of Thursday morning (Mar. 04), there are 3,305 active patients receiving treatment, while 80,437 have recovered.
