COLOMBO (News 1st): A decision has been reached to provide the COVID-19 vaccine for all university students starting next month, the University Grants Commission (UGC) said.
The decision was reached during a meeting with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Tuesday evening (Mar. 02), Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission told News 1st on Wednesday (Mar. 03).
Furthermore, plans are underway to re-open all universities in line with the vaccination drive targeting university students.
The vaccination drive targeting university students will be conducted under several phases, where 135,000 university students will receive the COVID-19 jab, Prof. Amaratunga further added.
