Dairy farmers in Rambakan Oya crippled due to forest destruction

The livelihoods of dairy farmers have fallen from bad to worse with the destruction of the forests in Rambakan Oya. These Farmers in the area have no place to herd their cattle. The main livelihood of the residents of the Mahaoya Divisional Secretariat is dairy farming. According to these people, the dairy farmers of the Mahaoya divisional Secretariat contribute the highest amount of milk to the local dairy industry. The Farmers here demand these issues be addressed so that they can continue to engage in dairy farming, the livelihoods handed down to them by their forefathers.
