Govt. can't claim it is a target of Western Countries : AKD

COLOMBO (News1st): The government cannot claim that they are being targetted by Western countries, opposition lawmaker Anura Kumara Dissanayake has said. "...this government that violated democratic principles in the country, and demolished the legal framework as well," Dissanayake said on Wednesday. He pointed out that foreign minister Dinesh Gunawardana had informed the UN human rights council that there is no need for international courts, as cases are being heard locally. "Can foreign minister Dinesh Gunewardena declare that the government has established an independent judiciary system in the country?" Dissanayake queried. He insited that the rulers of this country must protect democracy, rule of law, and human rights, if they love the country.
