Sports ministers reveal plans to uplift sports in the country

COLOMBO (News1st): Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Namal Rajapaksa said that his target is not to produce players skilled to play league matches in neighbouring countries but to produce players skilled to play for the national team. The "Football Friday" initiative which is organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Ceylon Professional Sports Management and the Football Federation of Sri Lanka saw its inaugural event being unfolded at the Race Course Grounds in Colombo last evening. The matches that were played under the health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health saw the participation of the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs and many popular players.
