COLOMBO (News 1st): Special examination centres will be set up at the district level in order to facilitate the students infected with COVID-19 to sit for the 2020 GCE Ordinary Level Examination, the Department of Examinations said.
Such students will be permitted to sit for the examination from the respective treatment centers; these centers will be recognised subject to the approval of the Director-General of Health Services, Sanath Pujitha, the Commissioner-General of Examinations said on Friday (Feb. 12).
It has also been decided to set up an isolated classroom at all examination centers, in order to facilitate students who are undergoing quarantine to face the exam.
Principals, Senior Deputy Principals, Zonal and Provincial Directors of Education have been instructed to supervise the disinfection activities of examination centers, the Commissioner-General of Examinations further noted.
The 2020 GCE O/L Examination is scheduled to be held from March 1st at 4513 centers island wide.
