COLOMBO (News1st): Special Task Force (STF) personnel had been removed from the security detail of parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran as he visited a terrorist, public security minister Rear Admiral (Rtd.) Sarath Weerasekara has said. "MP Sumanthiran left his STF security detail outside and visited a terrorist who killed those in the STF and the army. That is when we decided to remove the STF," Weerasekara told Parliament. He also pointed out that the STF was removed from the security detail of the parliamentarian as he defied orders of the police and the court by taking part in a protest. But Tamil National Alliance parliamentarian M. A. Sumanthiran pointed out that a court order had not issued against his name. "I don't have any court order against me anywhere. I have not violated any single court order," the TNA parliamentarian noted. "Even if I did that is not a reason to remove the special task force officers assigned to me".
