COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka must not sell off the West Container Terminal as it would worsen Sri Lanka’s problems, Duminda Nagamuwa, the Propaganda Secretary of the Frontline Socialist Party said.

“At present, India is exerting a lot of pressure on Sri Lanka on a political level,” Nagamuwa said during the Dawasa Programme on our sister channel Sirasa TV on Wednesday.

“They exerted pressure on us by delaying the sending of stocks of their vaccine”.

He also raised concerns on speculation that certain low-performing estate companies are to be given to India’s Adani Group.

“The problem here is, this Government who came to power promising that the Hambanthota Port will be taken back from the Chinese, are now trying to give the West Container Terminal to India,” he observed.
