Classrooms should have fixed capacity

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Education on Friday (Jan. 29) emphasized that the number of students in one classroom of national schools should not exceed the set maximum capacity. "Exceeding the maximum capacity of students in one classroom will negatively impact the quality of education received by the students," Prof. Kapila Perera, Secretary to the Ministry of Education said on Friday (Jan. 29). According to the Ministry of Education, the maximum number of students in one class for Grade 01 should be 40 students, while for the other grades, the maximum capacity of students is 45 per class.
