Colombo (News 1st); A total of 892 COVID-19 cases were reported on Thursday (28) in Sri Lanka, said the Department of Government Information.
852 of these cases were detected from the Peliyagoda cluster and the other 40 cases were returnees from overseas.
33 from the United Arab Emirates and 07 from Oman had thus tested positive for the coronavirus.
Accordingly, the total number of infected patients being treated for the coronavirus is at 6,854 while the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is at 61,586 of which 54,435 people have recovered.
In addition 297 people died of COVID-19 infection in Sri Lanka.
