COLOMBO (News 1st): The ‘Denuwara Menike’ train travelling along the upcountry railway line from Colombo-Fort to Badulla will be suspended until further notice, the Department of Railways said on Thursday (Jan. 28).
According to the Railways Department, the decision to suspend the operation of services was reached taking into account the low-rate of seat reservations for the train.
The passengers who already reserved seats to travel aboard the Denuwara Menike train will be provided transport facilities via the ‘Podi Menike’ train travelling from Colombo-Fort to Badulla, the Railways Department further noted.
The Podi-Menike train will depart Colombo-Fort at 6:30 am every day until 11th February.
