COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka surpassed the 60,000 mark of confirmed COVID-19 cases after 772 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Wednesday (Jan. 27), according to the latest data released by the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health.
Thereby, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 60,694.
As of Thursday (Jan. 28), there are 7838 active COVID-19 patients receiving treatment, while 52,566 have recovered.
The COVID-19 death toll in Sri Lanka stands at 290, after two deaths were reported on Wednesday (Jan. 27), the Department of Government Information said.
