COLOMBO (News 1st): Around 20,000 PCR tests are conducted on a daily basis, the Ministry of Health said.
Previously, around 10,000 PCR tests were conducted daily in Sri Lanka, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, the Director-General of Health Services said on Tuesday (Jan. 26).
According to Dr. Asela Gunawardena, at present PCR tests are conducted at close to 40 hospitals across the country including five private hospitals.
PCR machines will be installed at the Kegalle and Kalutara hospitals in the future, the Director-General of Health Services further noted.
