COLOMBO (News1st): Trade unions opposing moves to handover a 49 percent stake of the Colombo Port's East Container Terminal, handed over its proposals to the cabinet sub-committee on Friday. "We would like to let everyone know that this fight will not end unless we have won our argument," Prasanna Kalutharage, the president of the Liberated Port Workers' Union. Shyamal Sumanaratne, the general secretary of the Progressive Trade Union on Commerce, Industry and Services also echoed similar concerns. "Let us know what we can do to make sure the East Container Terminal continues to belong to our country," he said.
