COVID infected worker located after missing for hours

Colombo (News 1st); A COVID-19 infected person who left his dorm room without authorization from the Authorities was traced by Sri Lanka Police and was moved to a treatment center.

Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said the COVID-19 infected apparel factory worker was instructed to remain in his dorm room until health workers arrive to move him away to a treatment center. However, when health workers had visited the dorm room, there was no trace of the COVID-19 infected person, said the Deputy Police Chief adding a quick operation by local police led to the discovery of the 25-year-old worker who was at the 18th Mile Post in Katunayake.
