COLOMBO (News 1st): Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka, convening a press briefing today spoke about the Sri Lankan economy in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Former Minister stated that the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the International Monetary Fund provided assistance to countries whose economies were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but added that Sri Lanka failed to secure a single dollar. He further alleged that the Government missed the chance to obtain USD 500 Million from the world Bank, USD 500 Million from the Asian Development Bank and USD 800 Million from the International Monetary Fund but failed to do so as the agencies had determined that nation's economic woes weren't down to the pandemic.
