Allow Marijuana cultivation- Ven. Bengamuwe Nalaka Thero

COLOMBO (News 1st): Marijuana required for indigenous medical practices should be allowed to be cultivated, Ven. Bengamuwe Nalaka Thero from the Federation of National Organizations reiterated today. "If Lord Buddha has accepted it why can't we? Why can't the Government accept it? We expect to use marijuana to cure the illnesses of patients." The Ven. Thero stated. He further added that permission should be given to the indigenous doctors and the Ayurvedic Department to cultivate the marijuana needed for medicine locally, instead of bringing it down from overseas.
