COLOMBO (News1st): The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has generated more revenue by operating terminals singlehandedly over investment projects, trade unions said. "We single-handedly generated revenue worth 286 million US dollars revenue for the JAYA terminal," Lal Bangamuwa, the President of the Independent Port Employees' Union told reporters. He added that only USD 120 million has been generated in the last four years from two terminals in which foreign entities have a stake in operations. "The people can understand who would benefit as a result of depriving the country of foreign revenue under the guise of attracting investments," Bangamuwa noted.
