Sri Lanka records three new COVID-19 deaths

COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka reported three new COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, as the death toll due to the virus climbed to 247. A 66-year old male resident of Battaramulla who had passed away on Tuesday at the Homagama Base Hospital due to heart issues was among the victims. Another death was of a 81-year old male resident of Colombo 15 who had died at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases on Tuesday. His cause of death has been identified as pneumonia and respiratory illnesses resulting from the infection. Further, an 89-year female from Colombo who had passed away on Tuesday at the Colombo National Hospital was among the fatalities. Authorities ruled his cause of death as pneumonia.
