COLOMBO (News 1st): Showery weather over most parts of the island is expected to continue further due to the low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, the Department of Meteorology said on Tuesday (Jan. 12).
Very heavy showers exceeding 150mm can be expected at some places in Northern, Eastern, North-Central and Central provinces, the Natural Hazard Early Warning Centre at the Department of Meteorology said.
Further, sea areas extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurei can be very rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-70 kmph, according to the weather advisory.
