Namal reveals alleged land grab plot

Minister Namal Rajapaksa made a revelation about a large scale land grab that is taking place in Hambantota. He was speaking at a discussion held at the Ministry of Wildlife and Forest Conservation to resolve several issues being faced by the people of Tissamaharama and Sooriyaweya Divisional areas. Large scale land grabbing is taking place especially in the Sooriyawewa, Hambantota and Lunugamvehera Divisional areas and alleged that some officials mention the names of politicians, Minister Namal Rajapaksa said. Even though we lodge complaints with the police and discuss the matter with the police, there is no end to it, he added. When comments were made on the construction of a new elephant fence in Tissamaharama, the Minister along with Wildlife Minister C.B Ratnayake resolved the matter, with the latter promising to provide officials with all the necessary resources to carry out their duties.
