COLOMBO (News 1st): With the re-opening of schools on Monday (Jan. 11), a large number of people including students, teachers, parents, and other involved stakeholders are expected to enter the society; thereby, increasing the current rate of movement drastically at once, Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Sudath Samaraweera stressed.
“As a result, the COVID-19 virus may spread rapidly with the increase in the movement within society. Therefore, there is a need for everyone to understand their responsibilities properly to prevent the spread of the virus,” the Chief Epidemiologist emphasized on Saturday (Jan. 09).
Dr. Samaraweera pointed out that every entity involved in the school system must ensure to fulfill the respective responsibility.
