Fairly heavy showers or thundershowers above 50 mm could also be expected at some places on Saturday (Jan. 02) evening, the weather advisory noted.
Fairly heavy showers exceeding 75 mm could be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in Kalutara, Galle, and Matara districts, the Met Department said.
