New national mental health policy for Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News1st): Cabinet approval has been granted to formulate a new national policy for mental health covering 2020 to 2030, the government information department said. "The previous mental health policy in Sri Lanka had been formulated in 2005," the department noted in a statement. The new policy will aim at strengthening leadership and research, providing extended mental health services, human resource development and empowering the community.
