Govt. to cremate unclaimed bodies of COVID-19 victims

The Government Information Department said a number of bodies of COVID-19 victims are at Government hospital morgues and have not been claimed by relatives.

The Government Information Department said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa issued instructions to cremate the bodies that have not been claimed by relatives using Government funds.

The cost of cremation will be borne by the Disaster Management Center, said the Department of Government Information.
