Prisoners serving life in prison, protest atop Welikada Roof

Colombo (News 1st); Prisoners serving life sentences at the Welikada Prison have launched a protest by climbing on to the roof of one of the prison buildings.
Commissioner of Prisons Administration/Rehabilitation and Skill Development Chandana Ekanayake said these prisoners are demanding their release.
Around 10 prisoners are currently taking part in the protest, and all of them are serving life sentences, said Chandana Ekanayake.
