Diana Gamage & Aravindh Kumar to be seated with Govt. in Parliament

Colombo (News 1st); National List MP Diana Gamage & Badulla District MP A. Aravindh Kumar will be seated with the ruling party, as per a request made by the Government.

Johnston Fernando, the Chief Government Whip had forwarded a request to the Speaker, and thus it was decided to allocate seats with the ruling party for the two MPs, said Parliament Sergeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando.

In addition, separate seating will be made available at the opposition's side of the house for the other Opposition MPs who supported the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, he added.

Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella on the 29th of October informed the Speaker of Parliament to assign seats in the ruling faction for 09 MPs who were expelled from the Samagi Jana Balavegaya for supporting the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.

The 09 MPs are;

National List MP Diana Gamage.

Badulla District MP A. Aravindh Kumar.

Anuradhapura District MP Ishak Rahuman.

Digamadulla MP Faizal Cassim.

Digamadulla MP H.M.M. Harees.

Anuradhapura District MP M.S. Thowfeek.

Batticaloa District MP Naseer Ahamad.

Puttalam District MP Ali Sabri Raheem.

Digamadulla MP S. M. M. Muszhaaraff
