Colombo (News 1st): Heavy rains exceeding 100mm could be experienced in several areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and the Trincomalee district, the Department of Meteorology predicts. Heavy rains accompanied by severe lighting could be witnessed in several areas of the North and Eastern provinces and other parts of the island, the Department added. The Department of Fisheries has requested fishing and naval communities engaging in fishing activities along the coastal lines from Trincomalee to Kankasanthurai via Mulativu to be vigilant of the prevailing weather condition.
