Online platform for companies to confirm customers' details

COLOMBO (News1st): The government has launched an online portal for companies to confirm the identity of their customers, especially during e-commerce activities. Companies registered under any law can obtain this service upon making a request to the commissioner-general of the registration of persons' department. This would allow companies to confirm the identity of their customers through the online platform that would be made available on www.niclookup.drp.gov.lk. According to the department, companies can confirm the customers' identity by entering their NIC number, full name, and their address.
