New guidelines to be followed after lifting curfew

COLOMBO (News1st): The health ministry has rolled out a raft of guidelines to be followed by 55 sectors when the curfew is lifted on Monday. Among the 55 sectors are;
  • Nursing
  • Transport and taxi services
  • Utility services
  • Government offices
  • Personal services
  • Supermarkets
  • Shopping malls
  • Financial institutions and banks
  • Textile shops
  • Agriculture
  • Economic centres
  • Bakeries
  • Street vendors
  • Mobile vendors.
Based on the new guidelines, the health ministry will permit supermarkets and shopping malls to remain open, provided that a distance of 1.5 metres is maintained between individuals. According to the health ministry, the following facilities will have to remain closed until further notice;
  • Construction sites
  • Schools
  • Universities and higher education institutions
  • Tuition classes
  • Indoor events
  • Outdoor events
  • Public meetings
  • Cinemas
  • Children's parks
  • Zoos
  • Carnivals
  • Concerts
  • Beach parties
  • Swimming pools
  • Casinos
  • Nightclubs
  • Spas
  • Accommodation facilities
