Neighbors do not need to be afraid of quarantined residences

Colombo (News 1st); Acting Deputy Director-General of Health Services Dr Hemantha Herath said the people living in neighbourhoods where people have been quarantined at home, are not at risk of contracting the virus from their neighbour.

He stressed those who are placed in quarantine are not infected patients, but their close contacts.

Further, he said only people who are not able to undergo quarantine at home are moved to quarantine facilities.

Acting Deputy Director-General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said the virus does not travel from person to person in an airborne manner.
