COLOMBO (News1st): Stores, pharmacies and banks have been allowed to remain open from 8 am to 10 pm on Monday in the Gampaha district that is under curfew. "We request families to allow only one member to leave their homes to travel to the nearest store, pharmacy or bank," police spokesman Ajith Rohana said. He stressed that individuals who do not restrict themselves to visiting their nearest store will be considered as curfew violators. The spokesperson noted that curfew imposed in 64 police jurisdictions will not apply to employees of essential service sectors, and Advanced Level examination candidates. "Employees at ports, airports, water, electricity, power and energy services, journalists, health sector, banks, and the foreign ministry can travel to work using their service identity card," Rohana noted.
