Sajith says state hospital has sought hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 treatment

COLOMBO (News1st): The Galgamuwa Base Hospital has requested hydroxychloroquine tablets for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa said. Speaking in Parliament, Premadasa lashed out at certain government lawmakers who ridiculed him of suggesting drugs such as Plaquenil and Hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 patients. "...the people of this country must know that this is the medicine that they (the authorities are purchasing as well," the opposition leader told the House on Friday. He recalled that he had been subjected to ridicule when referring to these methods of treatment at the initial stages of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
