COLOMBO (News1st): The muslim opposition parliamentarians who voted for the 20th amendment will not be given positions, state minister Kanaka Herath has said.
“They have not joined us to implement the country’s policy because they were promised ministerial portfolios or any other privileges,” the government lawmaker said Friday.
He insisted that the government needs a parliamentary majority regardless of whether opposition parliamentarians support them.
“…we invite everyone to join us to implement our policy,” Herath noted.
