Colombo (News 1st); Cabinet decided to introduce 03 new amendments to the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution, said Minister Wimal Weerawansa on Monday (19).
Speaking to reporters, the Minister said at the Cabinet Meeting the President had proposed for an article related to audits in the 19th Amendment to the Constitution to be retained.
In addition, the President had also proposed to limit emergency bills to events related to Natural Disasters and National Security.
Further, it was proposed at the Cabinet meeting to retain the provision on the number of Cabinet Minister mentioned in the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
Accordingly, the Cabinet Minister had decided to propose those amendments to the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
