Colombo (News 1st); 40 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday (19) evening, said Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.
19 of these cases were detected from Quarantine Centers and 21 others were close contacts, confirmed the Army Commander.
Earlier on Monday, 47 COVID-19 cases were reported from the Minuwangoda cluster.
Accordingly, the total number of cases from the Minuwangoda cluster increased to 2162, with today 87 COVID-19 cases.
