Release from the Ministry of Justice regarding the 20th Amendment

Colombo (News 1st): The Ministry of Justice says that clauses in the 20th Amendment to the Constitution that requires a referendum to be passed, will not be tabled in Parliament. The Ministry of Justice said that steps will be taken in this regard after the special determination of the Supreme Court is announced in Parliament. The Ministry of Justice added that as the committee stage amendments to the bill had been presented to the Supreme Court and changes to them will be made with the consent of all the MPs. The Ministry further said that all amendments will be done according to the decision of the Supreme Court.
