Police investigating Omainthai double homicide

Colombo (News 1st);  Sri Lanka Police commenced an investigation after two people were found hacked to death with an axe inside a house in Omanthai and another seriously injured in the same premises.

Police Officers reached the scene of the crime following an anonymous call to the Omanthai Police early on Saturday (17) morning, said Sri Lanka Police.

The victims were aged 34 and 42 and the magistrate's inquiry will take place on Saturday (17).

The injured person was rushed to the Vavuniya Hospital for treatment.

The Vavuniya Police arrested the suspect responsible for the double homicide and it was revealed that a personal dispute was motive for the murders.
