COLOMBO (News1st): Parliamentarian Rauff Hakeem has said that the police had recorded a statement from him as part of their operation to arrest parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen.
Hakeem, told media on Friday, that the statement had been recorded over a telephone conversation with Bathiudeen on October 10.
“The phone call was made before the Attorney General had given the recommendation to arrest him,” the leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress noted.
He added that the conversation had revolved around the 20th amendment.
“I think he (Rishad) should make a decision in this regard and come forward soon,” Hakeem said.
