Colombo (News 1st); The Government Information Department on Friday (16) said the health sector suspects a journalist who attended a press conference held at the Department premises on October 13th, 2020 was infected with the Covid-19 virus.
However, the health department confirmed further investigations are being carried out in this regard, the statement added.
The Department of Government Information said it already furnished the information regarding all the journalists who participated in the media briefing to the Health Sector.
However, the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health has advised the journalists who attended the aforesaid press conference to stay safe at home until the medical reports of the journalist suspected to be infected with the virus are received.
The Cabinet Media briefing on the 13th of October 2020 took place in the presence of Joint Cabinet Spokesperson Keheliya Rambukwella and Dr. Ramesh Pathirana.
Director-General of Government Infirmation Nalaka Kaluwewa and journalists were among others present.
