Healthcare bill important than 20A: Sajith

COLOMBO (News1st): A sustainable modern healthcare bill is more important and timely than the 20th amendment, opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has said. In a statement, Premadasa pointed out that the government is trying to secure power instead of protecting the lives of the people who have been severely affected. He observed that the people have given the government a two-thirds majority with the belief that the government would stand up for the safety of the public. The opposition leader noted that the government is acting in a contrary manner to this mandate, by moving towards an anti-democratic dictatorship.
