COLOMBO (News1st): Several individuals in areas that are under curfew have been affected amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, News1st’s correspondents reported on Thursday.
“We are helpless. We are compelled to go to the streets to find food,” one resident lamented.
Businessmen, traders, and self-employed individuals have been severely inconvenienced due to the prevailing situation, the correspondents observed.
Locals of Ganemulla that provides shelter to approximately 50 families earn a living by farming and daily wage employment.
“We have no other mode of income, other than working as daily wage labourers,” another resident complained.
