Random PCR tests to be carried out amidst surge in COVID-19 cases

COLOMBO (News 1st): Random PCR tests will be carried out for COVID-19 in the country, the health ministry has said amidst a sudden surge in coronavirus infections. Health ministry figures show that there are 4844 COVID-19 patients in the country, among which 3317 have recovered and discharged from hospitals. Meanwhile, the number of patients in the COVID-19 cluster in Minuwangoda has risen to 1397. This was after 90 patients had tested positive for the virus.
