COLOMBO (News1st): The number of COVID-19 patients in the Minuwangoda cluster has risen to 1591, health authorities said Tuesday.

This was after 145 patients tested positive for the virus during the day.

Forty-eight among the new patients were associates or employees of the Brandix garment factory in Minuwangoda, at which the cluster emerged.

The other patients were identified as close contacts of the patients in the cluster.
